Job purpose

To manage the technical and building services of a large and extremely busy public site, in line with agreed budgets, company policy and Health and Safety Legislation.

In partnership with the Technical Director you will be responsible for implementing the company Health and Safety policy.

Overall responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of all plant and other key equipment within the site as well as the IT, electrical and fire safety systems. To assist in the delivery of site events in a professional, safe and timely manner. Liaising with clients, other departments, contractors and personnel as required from conception to the final delivery.

Accountabilities:

Ensure that the technical operation of the site is carried out in line health and safety regulations and safe working practices.Ensure that the day-to-day operational requirements and maintenance of all facilities within the site are to a high standard, including the regular inspection and maintenance of key equipment.Take the lead in implementing and maintaining the Health and Safety policy for the department.Provide expert technical advice and information to clients, external agencies and internal departments as required.In conjunction with the IT department and the Technical Director, provide IT support for the site. Trouble shoot any issues with Wi-Fi, telephone and network provision.Monitor and appraise the work practices of appointed contractors to ensure that work is carried out safely, in line with relevant legislation and to a high standard.Project manage major repair and capital expenditure works.Produce a monthly report of outstanding building faults and ongoing work.Appraise existing work procedures and practices to improve performance and reduce costs, producing reports and information in line with agreed timescales.

Experience and Skills Required:

Desirable

  • IOSHH Qualification
  • AutoCAD skills.
  • Asbestos Awareness trained.
  • Knowledge of Fire Detection Systems
  • Electrical qualification

Essential

  • Experience of managing and maintaining a busy building.
  • Knowledge of building services.
  • Budgetary experience
  • Experience in a busy at times under pressure hands-on environment.
  • Good IT skills, using all Microsoft programmes.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours
