Role Overview

The role sits in the ESG+ team within our Property Management division, focussing on delivering the ESG strategy for the division; our Green Charter, across our managed property portfolio. The role will support Surveyors and property management teams to improve portfolio- and asset-level sustainability performance, lead on strategic deliverables and support with growing strong client relationships.The Savills' Property Management Green Charter ensures the delivery of services in line with the BBP Core Provisions across the division. Alongside this, Savills has ambitious plans to improve data accuracy, deliver training for all employees within the division and provide best-in-class reporting to clients.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to enhance sustainability practices and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ESG principles, property management, and European regulations.The Senior ESG Manager will be required to undertake (including but not limited to); • Line manage site-based sustainability/ESG team members, supporting them to deliver their client's Sustainability/ESG strategies with our site teams.• Communicate and implement our Green Charter standards and ensure the requirements of the standards evolve and progress. • Understand our clients ESG requirements and help translate this to portfolio and site level engagement and extraction of data• Work with teams across Savills Property Management to develop tools and resources for surveyors and site teams to use to achieve the Green Charter requirements.• Monitor and report on ESG performance metrics across the property portfolio to senior management and external stakeholders.• Utilise data to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.• Assess and monitor the sector's sustainability performance, advising on priorities and on the implementation of interventions, benchmarking properties where possible. • Promote and enable a culture of improvement, encouraging and motivating property management teams to go above and beyond the minimum Green Charter standards. • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders, share data and promote innovation.• Support compliance with ESG regulations and standards, including the MEES/EPCs, waste, and other relevant EU directives.• Stay updated on changes in ESG-related legislation and assess their impact on the business.• Identify and mitigate ESG-related risks within the managed property portfolio.• Identify ESG training needs so that relevant materials can continue to be developed for Savills Property Management employees.• Produce case studies demonstrating team, portfolio and asset-level success. Share and encourage best practice within the sector and the company as a whole.• Provide general sustainability support on environmental legislation, sustainability reporting, tenant engagement, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, health and wellbeing, waste management, travel planning, social value and biodiversity (referring where necessary to the Property Management Sustainability Consultancy team and Savills Earth teams). • Communicate through formal presentations and informal interactions.• Produce written reports to a high standard and support colleagues with their report writing where needed.• Develop in-depth knowledge of the Savills consultancy services, and where appropriate make referrals.

Can deliver work under pressure and to fixed deadlines.• Resourceful team worker, with an ability to be autonomous in certain specialist fields.• An evident passion for Sustainability. • Good English, grammar, spelling and document-checking skills.Required • BSc/BA Degree in Sustainability or equivalent. • At least 6 years' experience within a Sustainability field in the Real Estate sector in the UK.• Line management experience.• Experience of working with sustainability data, including knowledge of energy, water, waste and carbon.• A professional qualification; IEMA or similar. • Completely IT literate with a high level of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Desired • MSc or MEng in Sustainability or equivalent.• A high level of competence in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, experience with data analysis with excellent attention to detail.
