Job Title: Senior Construction Manager

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 (dependent on experience)

About the role: My client is seeking a versatile construction professional to blend construction and project management roles.

Reporting to the Construction Operational Director, you'll lead projects/accounts, foster client relationships, and ensure successful project delivery. With hands-on involvement, you'll engage in site-based management as needed, demonstrating leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

You'll play a pivotal role in pre-contract project setup, overseeing site teams, and planning staff resources. Opportunities abound to work with new clients and project types, offering clear pathways for career progression within our supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-contract advice on programme, buildability, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and update construction programmes.
  • Supervise project management and commercial functions to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety on all sites.
  • Chair project/site meetings and maintain records.
  • Programme projects from Stage 4 delivery through design, procurement, and construction.
  • Implement company standards and systems for health & safety, environmental, and quality management.
  • Work with the commercial team to plan prelim requirements and select contractors/suppliers.
  • Ensure client considerate constructors scheme objectives are achieved.
  • Mobilize and instruct surveys as necessary.
  • Manage construction stage RFI tracker.
  • Prepare project directory and agree on project reporting formats with the client.
  • Engage with neighbours and local authorities as required.
  • Develop and manage project completion and handover progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally, a degree level/HND qualification in Construction Project Management, although relevant experience and track record will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Ideally residential/student and retail experience.
  • Excellent technical grounding in all aspects of construction.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Evidence of experience and references will be required.
