Job Description:
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement process and negotiating contracts for the establishment of two control centres for our expanding operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in large contract delivery and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
. Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and legal stakeholders to secure favourable terms and conditions for contracts related to control centre construction.
. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure alignment of procurement activities.
. Develop and implement procurement strategies that mitigate risks and maximise value throughout the project life cycle.
. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
. Manage supplier relationships and performance, including monitoring delivery schedules, resolving disputes, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
. Proven buying experience, with a focus on large contract delivery and infrastructure projects within the utilities sector.
. Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully lead complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
. In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and commercial terms and conditions.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
