Description
The Quality Team Leader will manage the QMS, audits and quality culture on site. You will ensure the business delivers safe, legal and quality products to meet the needs of our customers, with maximum commercial flexibility and practicality. You will actively drive change and continuous improvement across business, using data to drive decision making.
Manage the application and development of the quality policy, quality management system and HACCP management system, ensuring process documentation is maintained to the appropriate standard
Ensure all legislative, Company, customer and 3rd party accreditation body standards are met through effective internal auditing
Advise cross-functional managers on quality, feed safety and legislative requirements, including feed safety culture and integrity
Coach departments to drive feed safety culture as well as ensure understanding of the tasks they are completing and how their role contributes to feed safety
Keep abreast of changes in legislation and customer requirements to ensure that the Company is always fully conversant with the latest information
Manage quality assurance and quality control analysis for all materials, finished products and assets, monitor performance, identify areas for improvement
Develop working relationships with all technical contacts, to include suppliers, customers and enforcement agencies
Audit assets and equipment for safety purposes
Accountable for ensuring that complaints, internal non-conformances and issues and audit related non-conformances are investigated, with root cause analysis and preventative actions implemented and verify actions have been effective
Manage information requests and lead on site audit completion from customers, suppliers and outside agencies, ensuring the site is always audit ready
Provide quality assurance and technical resource for trials and new product development
Provide consultation to the business around process improvements
Develop, implement and test procedures needed to manufacture products efficiently, cost effectively and maximise right first-time rates
Drive continuous improvement through the site via technical projects and systems, through effective monitoring and analysis of relevant assurance metrics
Update the management team on quality and technical KPIs
Profile
The successful Quality Team Leader will:
- Level 3/4 HACCP
- Proven experience in site technical / quality supervisory / management in a fast-paced, cross functional / FMCG environment
- IT skills (Microsoft, ERP systems, automated control systems)
- Experience of dealing with suppliers and customers
- A tenacious and confident communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels whilst being able to balance strategic and operation requirements
- Ability to show sound technical and commercial decision making
- Experience coaching and training within a cross functional organisation
- Degree level qualification in science or food technology (or equivalent experience)
- Auditing qualification
