Qualified Accountant Portfolio Manager

This role requires a driver with own vehicle, flexible working

Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager who is a fully qualified Accountant with either ACA/ACCA or CTA qualification with at least three years plus experience of working in a practice environment and can demonstrate managing a team.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients to drive the delivery of accounting and tax planning solutions for clients and provide a tailored solution to key clients.

This role requires excellent communication skills, written, spoken and face to face with an ability to build relationships to effectively deliver projects and develop your team.

Basic Salary up to 65,00 depending on experience, enhanced benefits package, salary sacrifice scheme and excellent career progression

Candidate

  • Experience of reviewing and completing accounts files whilst also reviewing and completing personal tax returns quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent MS Office Skills
  • Excellent problem resolution skills and ideas generation ability
  • Strong marketing, networking, and business development skills
  • Pro-active management skills, resulting in high performance teams
  • Have in-depth knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation knowledge

Duties

  • You will provide exceptional levels of service to clients on a wide variety of areas, on a cost effective & timely basis.
  • Manage client queries and third parties enquires from HMRC
  • Develop good overall knowledge of clients and their businesses and become their point of contact on day-to-day matters
  • Reviewing accounts and tax returns prepared by more junior staff, including corporate and unincorporated clients.
  • Assist in manging the department to meet departmental objectives through planning.
  • Conduct staff appraisals, monitoring, and effective delegation, using the skills and knowledge within the existing team and sourcing additional knowledge.
  • Identify business and tax planning opportunities, VAT issues, NIC issues, business planning points, etc. as part of the review process.
  • Draw attention of partners/ client as appropriate and prepare reports/ computations and consult with other professional advisers
  • Assist partners with specific assignments- e.g. business planning, advisory and tax matters.
  • Assisting partners in controlling WIP within the section by progressing work to completion/ billing point swiftly.
  • Consult with the senior partners re WIP and raising bills
  • Monitor progress against deadlines and ensure these met e.g. company reporting, P11ds, tax returns, etc
  • Plan the workload for the department and ensure is it delivered on time and to a cost-effective manner, and consult with the partners and supervise the staff
