Project values range up to over £6 million across a wide range of sectors including fast track CAT A & B fit outs including new and refurbishment offices, health and welfare, leisure, retail, historic and sound studios.

The Role

• Generally to be site based and ensure all activities are delivered to the agreed time, cost, service and specification.• Continually identify business improvements and ensure the integration.• Promote business development.• Planning, procuring and organising all labour, materials and plant activities. Comply with technical, contractual, quality, legal and health & safety standards.• To oversee and manage project surveyor & site supervisors, and delegate works accordingly to project surveyors and site supervisors.• meeting with clients to get a fuller idea of their needs• if required putting together estimates, including budgets and timescales• to ensure all sub-contractors and equipment orders are placed on time to suit the project programme and liaising with the project surveyors to ensure costs meet the Project Cost Report (PCR) target values.• contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers• agreeing any additional work to be done within set timescales.• ensuring the project surveyors have all the relevant information to prepare costings.• liaising with the project surveyors to ensure applications/invoices are issued to our client on time• supplying information to resolve disputes if they arise• Identifying areas for improvement in existing contracting processes.• To prepare suitable and sufficient risk assessments and method statements to ensure the works are correctly planned and can be carried out in a safe manner.• To ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved method statements and risk assessments.• To ensure that all personnel are competent to carry out their duties.• To ensure that all equipment used on site complies with the relevant regulations.• To ensure that all necessary inspections are carried out in accordance with the regulations and project specifications.• To ensure that Sale as a contractor comply with their duties under CDM 2015.• To ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated as required.

Responsibility

• Builds a good working rapport with customer, consultants and key members of supply chain and ensures there is good open dialogue throughout the project• Looks ahead and plans all aspects of the project, identifying potential challenges and bringing imaginative and cost effective solutions• Produces the initial contract programme including setting programme targets that are achievable• Monitors progress against programme and takes action where necessary and prepares full SALE project reports to suit the requirement of the clients meetings or a minimum of 1 No. project report per month.• Produces information required schedule linked to the construction programme• Works closely with the project quantity surveyor (QS) to produce procurement schedules linked to the construction programme and the Project Cost Reports (PCR's)• Oversees the selection of project subcontractors including attending order letting meetings with key subcontractors• Ensures that the site team is working in accordance with the latest information, maintaining the drawing register and all other relevant records.• Ensures prompt delivery of O & M manuals in accordance with the contract• Reviews all aspects of the project with the site team every month• Produces all SKA or BREAM information where required on time to suit our clients requirements.• Plans resources and allocates to the project as appropriate and as listed dates• To ensure better buying / target buying against the PCR targets are achieved• Procurement of plant• Procurement of sub-contractors• Procurement of site materials and equipment• Management of wholesaler discounts on projects• Contract reporting / Project reports (as detailed above)• Validation reports• Programmes: installation / commissioning / close out• Coordination of drawings & other contractors• Drawing sign off• Site management and client meetings• Cost / variation reporting to QS• Managing budgets & forecasting costs• Bench marking• Health & Safety Management• Health & Safety environmental policy• Induction records & PPE register• Training matrix records• Method statements• Risk assessments

This role will be site based in London however you will be required to visit the head office based in Sutton for induction and any project handover meetings.
