Summary

We're looking for a Project Manager with significant experience of stakeholder management or major infrastructure to lead for the National Trust's work in response to the construction of Phase 1 of the High Speed 2 railway currently underway. You'll lead on managing the significant risks and opportunities from the detailed planning and construction of HS2 close to National Trust places in Buckinghamshire. You'll represent the Trust, and identify the most effective ways to engage, influence key stakeholders and ensure impacts from construction are minimised.

Salary: £26,699 (£44,499 full time equivalent). This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust's annual pay review process.

You'll be based within our national Planning and Major Infrastructure Team, reporting to a Senior National Consultant. You'll work closely with a variety of regional and property teams across the Aylesbury Vale and Chilterns area to achieve the project goals.

With hybrid working, your time will be a combination of working from National Trust places, being out and about on site and working from home. You'll have a dynamic working week and will need to travel throughout the area for meetings.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with property staff and subject matter experts, you'll hold HS2 and their contractors to account and ensure design and construction commitments are adhered to, carefully managing impacts on National Trust places and identifying opportunities for potential enhancements.

You'll be leading on internal and external stakeholder communications in relation to HS2 Phase 1 and supporting and managing relationships and negotiation with HS2 Ltd, their contractors and other key stakeholders in order to maximise the Trust's influence and harness opportunities.

You'll represent the Trust's interests in negotiations and design development and conduct the project in accordance with the NT Project Management Framework, including identifying and sharing lessons for the benefit of the organisation.
