Situation: The railway, civils and Infrastructure division at Ford & Stanley are proud to be collaborating with one of the UK's most successful rail infrastructure companies in their search for a Project Manager. As Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a multitude of projects valued between £500k and £4million that will assist in the modernization of rail industry which includes passenger experience upgrades, onboard connectivity, cyber security and network infrastructure upgrades, track to train communications and CCTV installation.

Opportunity: As Project Manager you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of rail projects valued between £500k and £4million. As a key member of the project team, you will be given the opportunity to take ownership of these projects, leading from the front and ensuring all processes and procedures are followed correctly maintaining healthy relationships with stakeholders. This business is leading the charge into the change to the rail industry, and as such have a healthy pipeline of projects with Network Rail and London Underground, and as this natural development ensues, so will yours, so it's realistic to see yourself as a Senior Project Manager in the next 18-24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures execution of obligations detailed within the Contract whilst ensuring compliance with the company Safety culture, guidelines, environment and legislative requirements.
  • Working in conjunction with the Manager - Operations Delivery, Manager - Programmes, Delivery Managers and supporting Operations Team, executes the delivery of each Project and Contractual obligation to pre-agreed budgets.
  • Continuously analyses operations and processes and initiates respective innovation projects.
  • Contributes to and monitors relevant Project KPI's
  • Liaise with internal Departments to ensure all "Internal Client" support is in place to allow safe & successful execution of all Programme and Contractual obligations and solves delivery issues.
  • Monitors and analyses the P&L statements for individual projects with regards to influences on the profitability.
  • Supports and monitors their own employee satisfaction, qualification, development and performance management.
  • Support the Sales/BD process in the definition of the Project Execution with respect to resources, programme and delivery risk.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

  • Essential: Project Management experience within the rail, telecoms or civils sectors
  • Essential: "Cradle to grave" project management experience
  • Essential: Commercial understanding (experience with P&L)
  • Essential: APM or PRINCE2 qualification
  • Essential: P6 experience
  • Essential: Full UK drivers' licence with own vehicle
  • Desirable: Someone who is already a Project Manager would be beneficial, however an Assistant Project Manager who meets the essential criteria above will be considered!
  • Desirable: Experience with Standard 019 (access)
