The London Fire Brigade are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Management Officer (PMO) to join our Inclusion Department on an interim 3-month basis. The PMO will plan, oversee and coordinate projects which promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to facilitate the planning, execution, and monitoring of Inclusion Department projects. Ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and status updates. Create insightful reports to assist departmental leadership in making informed choice.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the central point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication. Foster collaboration and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Resource Management: Assist in resource allocation and tracking. Ensure that the necessary resources, including personnel, technology, and budget, are available for successful project execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks, assess their potential impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies. Preemptively address any obstacles that may hinder project progress.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance project management processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the Inclusion Department.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain project performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Monitor and report on project performance against established benchmarks.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to project teams on project management best practices and tools.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant policies, regulations, and standards, including those related to Inclusion and Diversity.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and managing project-related documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with Inclusion and Diversity core concepts and practices is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
