National Account Manager - RetailWe're looking for an energetic and collaborative National Account Manager with retail experience but most importantly an infectious passion for food, flavour and brands.The Flava People are a third-generation family business with the ambition and appetite of a start-up. We're shaking up dinner times by providing game-changing flavours for the meal that matters most, so everyone can achieve their dinner goals. As National Account Manager you will be an integral part of building and maintaining our exciting portfolio of foodie brands within the retail wholesale and discounter sector, to make sure our products are the ones shoppers pick off shelf in supermarkets.We're all about collaboration, so as well as working closely with your close-knit flava family, you will also be managing our relationships with the customer, using your understanding of your buyer's category strategy to help them with their NPD, setting the trade plan to maximise the potential for the category and our products/brands. We're looking for a National Account Manager who's super hungry to take a hands-on approach to owning those relationships with the retailers and discounters, from inputting into the sales strategy & direction to project management of new launches and category/brand performance reporting.As National Account Manager you are a champion for our products & brands (Flava-It, YO!, Baileys & Guinness to name a few), you'll need a finger on the pulse with customer and food trends, plus commercial knowledge to frame and deliver the right briefs and drive success. As a key part of the sales team, we'll want you to monitor and report on new brand & Product success; highlighting opportunities for potential future brands/products that could work within the business to bring exciting opportunities to life at The Flava People and on shelf!Are you passionate and excited about shaking things up with brands in food? There's plenty of opportunities to get stuck in and drive real growth with this role!Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive your customer approach, building our understanding of the customer and meeting their needs through our existing and new products/Brands.
  • Create and deliver your action plan, showing what you're going to do and the resources you require to do it best. You'll need an appreciation of promotions and other activities to drive visibility, awareness and trial at the fixture and online
  • Be the main communication point with the customer, working with the buyers and planners and liaising with the product team
  • Monitor sales of our range and the overall category, to become a trusted partner to your buyer
  • Be laser like in your forecasting to make sure we deliver on time in full, and manage our stock
  • Be a key part of our team, liaising regularly with your colleagues in Marketing, NPD, Procurement and Operations, giving you a great grounding in a fast growing business
  • Have fun, we're a small entrepreneurial business with big growth plans, and we'd love you to be a big part of our small team
Experience:
  • 3+ years' proven sales experience in a National Account Manager role or similar, within the grocery/retail sector
  • Great understanding of the UK grocery/retail market
  • Previous role as National Account Manager/Sales Manager (Could be suitable for an ambitious National Account Executive looking to take their next step)
  • Strong Commercial understanding - commercial modelling, forecasting and pricing. (You also need to know your way around excel & presenting concise models.
