Hays is currently working with a leading contractor offering a wide range of services, such as building services, facilities management, and property development. The company provides facilities management services for a prestigious hospital based in Derbyshire. The company offer services including but not limited to mechanical and electrical equipment, Lifecycle and asset management, statutory and mandatory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance and much more. They also offer opportunities to work on diverse and challenging projects, collaborate with other construction professionals, and use the latest technologies and software.

Your new role
As a HVAC Manager, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of all heating, ventilation and air conditioning units as well as instillation across the hospital estate. Further responsibilities include:

  • Select, lead and motivate circa 5 - 10 HVAC engineers from both internal and external stakeholder organisations.
  • Managing projects - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget
  • Carry out, monitoring and controlling activities in order to track the progress of the planned and reactive maintenance
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time
  • Implement any necessary changes throughout the process
  • Report regularly to management and the client
  • Completing statutory compliance


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a successful candidate in this role, you will:
  • Previous experience in a similar or comparable role within the UK. However, candidates looking to step up into a management position with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working in a health care environment
  • A degree or equivalent qualification will be beneficial, but not compulsory.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
