OakNorth Bank are currently recruiting for a Head of Talent Acquisition. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our talent acquisition strategy, being a trusted business partner to ExCo level stakeholders, and ensuring the recruitment and retention of top-tier talent to drive the success of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in talent acquisition, a deep understanding of FinTech and Financial Services, and the ability to lead a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with OakNorth's overall business objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance to ExCo, Leaders and Managers at OakNorth on talent acquisition trends, best practices, and innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Recruiters to achieve business and personal goals
  • Drive a results-driven team culture, ensuring a positive candidate experience and timely delivery of recruitment services and projects.
  • Streamline and optimize the end-to-end recruitment process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and leverage innovative technologies to improve the recruitment workflow and candidate experience.
  • Work closely with the marketing teams to enhance the organization's employer brand and promote it as an employer of choice. Enhance OakNorth's social media presence on platforms such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor (and other social media platforms).
  • Be an ambassador of the OakNorth employer brand, and comfortable in public speaking to various audiences (universities, conferences, networking events, etc.)
  • Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators to assess and refine recruitment process.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team on talent acquisition metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with department heads and hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective talent pipelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes related to recruitment and ensure the organization's compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition at a senior level, with a track record of success in leading recruitment teams.
  • Previous experience in hiring within Financial Services and FinTech as well as experience hiring within Product, Engineering and Technology verticals.
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation concerning best hiring practices
  • Proficient in using recruitment technologies and data analytics tools, championing automation at every stage.
  • Demonstrable experience in enhancing organisational EVP and Employer Branding
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

OakNorth Bank was built on the foundations of frustrations with old-school banking. In 2005, when our founders tried to get capital for their data analytics company, the computer said 'no'. Unfortunately, all major banks in the UK were using the same computer - and it was broken.
