Head of Product Design

As the Head of Product Design at Medius, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, including Product Design, UX writing, and UX research. Reporting to the Chief Product and Technology Officer and play a critical role in defining the aesthetic vision, design strategy, and experience principals to ensure that all Medius products provide exceptional value to our end users and paying clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the design team, setting a high standard for creative excellence and user-centered design.
• Team Management: Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of product designers, a UX writer, and a UX researcher, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Design Strategy: Develop and implement a clear design strategy that aligns with the company's product and technology roadmap.
• Product Design: Oversee the end-to-end product design process, ensuring designs are user-friendly, intuitive, and aesthetically appealing.
• Product Orientation: in a continuous collaboration with the Product team, obsessed by our users, you'll be participating in all phases of the Product, from discovery, delivery to subsequent iterations. You're setting the success of your work through the success of the Product rather than the output produced.
• User-Centric Approach: Champion a user-centered design approach, conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights and refine product designs.
• UX Writing: Collaborate closely with the UX writer to ensure that content aligns with design, is clear, and enhances the user experience.
• User Testing: in an Environment evolving quickly, it is vital to test ideas and hypothesis with actual users. You'll be conducting frequently User Tests in order to validate ideas and gain some quantitative learnings.
• Design System: Establish and maintain a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and scalability across our product portfolio.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure design quality by conducting regular design reviews and providing constructive feedback to the design team.
• Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging design technologies to bring innovative ideas and concepts to the table.
• Budget Management: Manage the design budget effectively, making sure resources are allocated wisely to support project goals.
• Prototyping: in order to create nimble communication opportunities about new ideas, you'll have often the opportunity to be prototyping.
• Collaboration: Establish a strong and bilateral collaboration with other departments : marketing, Product and Tech, as well as the Executive team.

Preferred experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a design team, preferably in a technology or SaaS environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and a deep understanding of design principles.
• Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

• Synthetic and analytical (Attention to detail)
• Ability to lead design projects from concept to completion
• Experience with design software
• Experience working with Product and Marketing teams
• Hate to spend time reporting Expenses or approving invoices
