My client are an exciting fast growing, market leading International SaaS FinTech company that have established a strong foothold and service / platform offering across Telecommunications, Financial services and Technology. The role covers an international jurisdiction with clients and engagements mostly UK and US covering multi regional and time zones.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Vice President of Platform Engineering with extensive experience in delivering high transaction volume, global financial services SAAS platforms.
You will be responsible to deliver the core components of our platform that will then be used across our global client base. You will also be responsible for ensuring that products meet design and scalability requirements. You will manage a distributed team of high performing internal and external developers, QA testers, and DevOps Engineers to create the best quality product for our corporate clients and end customers. You will own the software development lifecycle for the core platform and formulate ways of working across the team to ensure compliance with our engineering standards and regulatory obligations.
You will be comfortable working with both key internal and client senior stakeholders and non-technical users alike.Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support a highly effective team of passionate engineers fostering a high-performance culture.
- Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, agility ,innovation, and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and calibre of our engineering organization
- Develop standards and procedures to ensure quality objectives are met and maintained across the different agile teams, promoting excellence in execution and outstanding customer experience.
- Ensure the Product Roadmap is delivered on time, on budget and in adherence to the quality standard
- Recruit world class engineering talent and participate in the process, including attracting, screening, and closing high-calibre candidates.
- Ensure adequate Agile practices are followed by the different engineering teams
- Build cross-department relationships centred on executing company strategy
- Work closely with the Enterprise Architect to solve complex business and technical challenges
- Work closely with the CPO, COO, and CTO on company-wide initiatives
- Design, implement, and monitor all operations and key performance metrics/operational efficiency for the engineering team.
- Maintain and optimize budgets and teams to meet goals.
- Assist setting up new Client Teams and ensure they are following Global delivery standard.
About you
You are from a technical developer background and have moved up the ladder and evolved into a managerial position. You are still pretty hands on and are happy to roll-up your sleeves to problem solve with developers.
You have extensive knowledge of Web architecture, Azure Cloud, distributed architecture, and integration technologies. You appreciate teamwork and have a can-do attitude. You do not hesitate to address challenges even in areas that you do not own to ensure the team is successful. You enjoy a fun and fast paced environment and are not fazed by ambiguity. You have great communication skills, and you are as comfortable working with business or technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical hands-on developer and applications development background
- Program/Project Management experience with proven track record of successfully delivering a product roadmap managing agile teams
- Ability to think strategically
- Detailed understanding of web and integration technologies
- Experience of banking and/or insurance SAAS platforms
- Fintech/Insuretech experience a must
- Preferably MS stack .Net Core, C# : some background of engineering leadership
