What We're Looking For in a Head of Consulting

Our Head of Consulting will seek to own and develop our cloud native security consulting business. Leading and developing our incredible consultants to drive new business, deliver client projects, and enhance our consultancy offerings.

We are looking for a candidate who will have a strong consulting background focusing on cloud security or the DevOps space. This role is pivotal in driving a business growth mindset, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our consulting operations.

This role is a hybrid position with an expectation of regular attendance at our London office, client visits, and events.

Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements of our Head of Consulting
  • Business Development
    • Develop and create content and collateral to support marketing efforts and drive the sales pipeline in collaboration with our Marketing Manager.
  • Encourage and drive all consultants to seek new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in business development activities alongside our Technical Solutions go-to-market team, leveraging industry knowledge to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Engage with prospects, attend conferences, and look for opportunities to help drive new business and expand existing.
  • Client Project Delivery
    • Understanding the needs of our heavily regulated, multinational enterprise clients.
    • It is entirely possible that as a senior leader with a consultancy background you may find you are best placed to assist clients directly.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of consulting projects, ensuring high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and escalation point for project-related issues.
  • Perform high impact consultancy personally.
  • Implement performance metrics and KPIs to measure and improve the effectiveness of the consultancy team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of 30 consultants and 3 Engineering Managers, with direct oversight of the current Engineering Managers.
  • Drive a culture of efficiency, continuous improvement, and high performance within the team.
  • Collaborate with the CTO to define and execute the consultancy strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements in cloud native technologies and security to ensure the consultancy practice remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Streamline internal processes to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure statements of work and proposals are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate timesheet records and other operational documentation.
Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a senior consultancy role with a focus on cloud security or offensive security.
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of driving new business and growing client accounts.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Broad knowledge of cloud native technologies, security best practices, and engineering principles.
  • Strong operational acumen with experience streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
