Morrison Energy Services are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Planner to work on our UK Power Networks & SSEN Contracts in the South east of England

As a graduate Planner, you will be supported to build upon the skills and knowledge you have gained during your university studies. You will get the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of activities, with increasing responsibility as you develop your technical skills and experience.

Morrison Energy Services is proud to be a key partner in the UKPN Alliance, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition

As a Graduate Planner what kind of activities will I be involved in?

As a Graduate Planner you will be part of our planning team who are responsible for producing robust and detailed programmes of works on site. A key part of the role will be liaising with the Project/Construction Manager and Site Engineers to ensure that the programme keeps abreast of any changes

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Engineers to learn construction methods in the and undertake site visits.
  • In conjunction with the Planner learn how to build, optimise, and implement construction planning and programmes in Primavera P6.
  • When necessary, produce detailed trackers to be used to collect and report progress made on a weekly basis.
  • Champion programme management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects
  • Work closely with the Planner, Project Manager and Project Q.S. to maximise the potential of each project, attend site meetings when necessary.
  • Gather benchmarking information to aid the value for money assessment on each project.
  • Maintain ongoing development and delivery of a co-ordinated change agenda for business improvement
  • Work cohesively with the commercial and financial members of the Planning and Systems tea
  • Working alongside a Planner managing project programmes along the project life cycle

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Construction / Civil Engineering related degree
  • UK driving licence.
