About the Trust

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country. We provide acute medical and surgical services to Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and specialist services such as cancer, dialysis, and eye surgery to a wider population across Berkshire and its borders.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Gather information and data accurately to satisfy audit inquiries for the finance team
  • Plan and organise tasks and activities for a variable workload. Initiate plans and modify them as required to suit work programme requirements, such as training, new software systems, or reporting systems.
  • Responsible for the safe use of IT equipment in the work area
  • Deliver core training with respect to the Estates and Development policies and guidelines, which meets the needs of health and safety and governance in the Trust. Ensuring safe, compliant use of equipment in the department for internal and external staff (project managers, contractors and RBH employees).

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Ability to develop and maintain communication, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of staff, patients, the public.
  • Ability to negotiate with colleagues, senior Trust staff, outside organisations and members of the public on day-to-day service issues and priorities.
  • Experience of working as a senior secretary/personal assistant/ Office Manager.
  • Experience of managing an effective and efficient administrative service to multiple users and Departments.

This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
