Design Manager - NI Only Workload - Main Contractor

Your new role
As Design Manager you'll be given the opportunity to manage and control the design process on design & build projects in line with the project programme, commercial, health & safety and legislative constraints. You'll lead and manage the design team while collaborating with the wider construction team including the supply chain and client. You'll implement and manage the design approval and document control process as detailed within the project plan and in line with BIM protocol where required. You'll be responsible for production of design responsibility matrix, deliverables schedule and design/procurement programmes while implementing document management processes through the use of collaboration systems. You'll provide input for tenders, produce regular progress reports and chair design meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll ideally have at least 2-3 years design management experience with a main contractor, taking medium to large scale projects from pre-construction through to completion. You'll have an understanding of design management processes, project programming, project resourcing and BIM processes. An strong construction knowledge and have a understanding of building regulations is essential.
