DAX Strategy Manager

Reporting of the Role

This role reports to DAX Strategy Director

Overview of job

Work with DAX Audio Strategy Director, and partners across the wider business to provide expertise and inspiration for the sales team, advertisers and agencies on the role of DAX audio in the communications mix.

Strategy Team Areas of Focus:

  • Education: create great stories about how DAX audio can help advertisers reach their goals
  • Evidence: Identify areas of our DAX audio story that need support from research initiatives
  • Communication: Work with trade marketing to ensure DAX audio is front of mind for advertisers and agencies and our points of difference are clear

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • An understanding of Global's broader strategic objectives and where DAX sits within the business.
  • Been introduced to core and adjacent departments and have a clear grasp of the DAX internal ecosystem.
  • Spent time with the Heads of Sales for Audio and Podcast, along with the product experts such as Mobile Gaming and DAX ID to understand the opportunities, challenges and requirements of the sales team.
  • Built and understanding of the competitive landscape and created a hypothesis of and clearly identify our USPs
  • Worked with the DAX Strategy Director to identify key projects to deliver and how to measure them

Responsibilities of the role

  • Create great stories that highlight the benefits of new DAX environments and new DAX products.
  • Work with DAX and aligned teams on new product development for DAX audio.
  • Work with marketing to design a strategy showcasing the great content partners we have in DAX such as SoundCloud, our podcasts and Odeeo our mobile gaming partner.
  • Generate brilliant examples of DAX driving success for brands and work with sales and marketing to create effective ways to share this content.
  • Support marketing by being the DAX expert, the link between the product detail of DAX and how that can translate to great content for our website, CRM and social media.
  • Collaborate with our research and insight team to identify and oversee innovative projects that prove the value of DAX and advise advertisers on best practice.
  • Analysis of market and competition to understand direction and its impact on the future of digital audio - and DAX.
  • Identify the best awards for DAX to enter, the most appropriate categories and our write our entries.
  • Be a link between DAX audio and outdoor - identify where there are stories that can support both platforms.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • The ability to absorb complex technical and commercial information.
  • Be brilliant at prioritisation and decision-making.
  • The ability to be both analytical and creative in problem solving.
  • A collaborative approach, comfortable working with multiple teams across matrix structure.
  • Attention to detail as well as the ability to take a broader perspective.
  • A good understanding of media planning and advertising, specifically digital marketing and ad tech.
  • An ability to write and deliver compelling sales and business presentations.
  • Energy, passion and a sense of fun.
