The Data Governance Manager role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our growing team. You will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining our data governance framework, ensuring consistent data quality, and effectively communicating the importance of data across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Oversee data quality initiatives across operational and analytical functions.
- Champion data privacy best practices and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
- Facilitate data governance committees and act as a focal point for data governance programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to foster a data-driven culture.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and recommend their adoption.
- Manage and report on data governance projects.
Your profile
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with records management and data lifecycle definition.
- Proven ability to author data governance artefacts like policies and principles.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and their data governance considerations.
- Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on data management.
- Experience implementing change management processes involving people, process, and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and facilitate data governance committees and forums.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry developments.
