The Data Governance Manager role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our growing team. You will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining our data governance framework, ensuring consistent data quality, and effectively communicating the importance of data across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Oversee data quality initiatives across operational and analytical functions.
  • Champion data privacy best practices and ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
  • Facilitate data governance committees and act as a focal point for data governance programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to foster a data-driven culture.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and recommend their adoption.
  • Manage and report on data governance projects.

Your profile

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experience with records management and data lifecycle definition.
  • Proven ability to author data governance artefacts like policies and principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and their data governance considerations.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on data management.
  • Experience implementing change management processes involving people, process, and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate data governance committees and forums.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry developments.
