In this role, you will oversee a management team tasked with delivering a new build science lab in Stevenage, valued at 75 million. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project management programmes, detailing project scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the project, coordinating with various stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and financial objectives are met.
  • Conduct regular progress evaluations and feasibility studies, identifying potential issues and developing solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards, maintaining high-quality outputs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate effective communication between all project teams and departments, ensuring alignment and efficient workflow.
  • Mentor and guide project team members, promoting a collaborative and motivated working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale commercial projects exceeding 20 million as the primary project manager, with a consistent and stable career history within Tier 1 contractors.
  • Extensive experience within the life sciences sector is essential, as this role involves managing the construction of highly specialised facilities. A deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements associated with life sciences projects, including laboratory environments, cleanrooms, and research spaces, is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of this project.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and health and safety regulations.
  • Relevant qualifications including SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), First Aid certification, and an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
