We have partnered with a hugely successful charity that provides innovative support to people who are experiencing issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health via a wide range of services across the UK. They deliver more than 80 services in local communities alongside dedicated programmes online, face to face, in schools and in prisons.
Our client is a trusted partner to a wide range of funders, including the the Government, Local Authorities and the NHS, and the ongoing availability of their crucial services relies on the exceptional work of their business development directorate. This role is currently vacant due to an internal promotion. You will be responsble to the Bid strategy in the North of Engand however you may also lend your support to bids in other areas as required.
The Role:
Working in partnership with the Commercial and Operations Directors to deliver the development strategy for your area
Line management and development of a Bid Writer who works on Scottish regional bids
Project management of internal stakeholders, including clinical, operations and finance subject matter experts, to develop service models, budgets, and win themes
Overseeing the production of winning tenders and holding responsibility for your geographical bid pipeline in line with the overall strategic plan
Delivering support to operational colleagues to prepare for re-tendering activity and contribute to ongoing service model development and improvement
Developing and maintaining relationships with partners, commissioners and external stakeholders
Working with the Tender Quality Manager to analyse tender and stakeholder feedback to inform ongoing improvements
Ensuring that the financial modelling of tenders reflects the service model, requirements of commissioners and is commercially competitive.
The Person:
Extensive experience and proven track record in business development, including writing tenders, designing services, producing budgets, developing new products, and forming strategic and operational partnerships
Line management experience gained within a business development team
Excellent project management and organisational skills, including tender and pipeline planning and management
Proven experience of writing successful tenders
Demonstrable experience developing and leading partnerships with external stakeholders, including negotiating subcontracting or other contractual terms
