Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated architectural technician to join their engineering department on a 12-18-month contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Senior Engineering and Project personnel in the completion and delivery of engineering-related activities. This exciting opportunity offers a degree of self-governance and will involve working on various tenders and projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager.
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum
What the role will look like:
- Work closely with senior engineering and project team members to actively contribute to the successful completion of engineering tasks and deliverables.
- Assist in the planning and execution of the design and construction processes for both onshore and offshore modular buildings.
- Play a role in the development of new marine and offshore architectural outfitting projects.
- Provide support for the refurbishment of offshore and marine architectural outfitting as needed.
- Engage in the collaborative design and provision of naval/marine/offshore galley and laundry equipment and furniture.
- Foster effective teamwork by closely coordinating with the Outfitting Design Lead to ensure the efficient and successful completion of tasks.
- Demonstrate a proactive and problem-solving approach in managing tasks independently with a degree of self-governance.
The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Production of 2D drawings & layouts inc. services and furnishings.
- Production and management of Document Registers, BOM's, Schedules and Specifications
- Assisting with Site Surveys/visits
- Assist with completion of Technical drawings and documents
- Attend kick-off and progress meetings with clients, suppliers and stakeholders, as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Further Education Qualification(s) relevant/relatable to the role
- Bachelor's or master's Degree relevant/relatable to the role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable experience of working to deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills
- Full Driving Licence & Passport (Desirable)
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Competent "user-level" experience with AutoCAD 2D
- Microsoft Office and general IT skills
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment and meet challenging timescales.
Desirable:
- Experience of Interior Fit-Out Design (Hotels, Hospitals, Retail, etc)
- Working knowledge of 3D modelling software (Revit, etc)
- Experience within the Oil & Gas and Marine or sectors
