Your new company
You will be working for a large local council who are based in Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all Information Systems management and support. As the Team Leader, you will have line management responsibility for 2-3 Business Systems Officers.
Your new role
- Providing second and third line support for major departmental systems such as Planning, Finance, Environmental Health, and Elections.
- Planning and implementing upgrades, problem-solving, and acting as the interface between suppliers and users.
- Managing external support contracts for applications.
- Managing the day-to-day support of all applications by the Business Systems and Projects Officers.
- Database administration and support for relational databases, including extracting and processing data from those databases.
- Formatting and manipulating data to provide management information.
- Finding solutions to technical problems within the resources available.
- Adapting existing procedures and producing new ones.
- Juggling conflicting demands on time on a continuous basis.
- Communicating effectively with other professionals, elected members, and senior managers within the council.
What you/'ll need to succeed
- Experience of providing support for major departmental systems, including system selection, implementation, upgrades, backups, and troubleshooting.
- Experience of database administration and support for relational databases (eg Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience of formatting and manipulating data to provide management information.
- Knowledge of IDOX Uniform, Civica OPENRevenues, Geographic Information Systems, Oracle SQL queries, Microsoft SQL Server queries, Reporting (eg MS Access, Power BI), MS Power Automate and MS Forms would be an advantage.
- Well-organised, efficient and flexible.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals, elected members, and senior managers within the council.
- Ability to find solutions to technical problems within the resources available.

A permanent vacancy paying £45,000pa - £50,000pa + benefits. The role is Hertfordshire based with hybrid working on offer.
