About the team and the role

The Small Medium Business (SMB) team supports SMB sellers to see success on ebay. As a team we partner with sellers to understand what matters to them and ensure eBay is the SMB platform of choice. We create bold new initiatives to put SMBs at the front of market trends and opportunities. As part of this we support sellers to be at the forefront of new market developments from AI to recommerce!

What you will accomplish:

Establish new seller retention programmes.

  • Using strong data and analytical skills you will propose new ways that we can support our SMBs to see success on eBay. You will be expected to translate complex datasets into actionable strategies that enhance seller loyalty and engagement.
  • These programmes will be delivered through partnerships in the UK and global eBay organisations.

Interpret market developments for SMBs

  • Understand the retail and ecommerce market to identify new opportunities for eBay to drive seller retention
  • Build out strategy for how eBay can incorporate new trends and opportunities into the site to support existing SMBs. Through new initiatives, on site product experience or external partnerships
  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate new market trends into eBay's platform. This may involve conceptualising and launching new features, enhancing the on-site product experience, or developing tools that empower SMBs to adapt to and thrive amidst market shifts.

Recommerce

  • As part of this role you will partner with the Head of the team on the sustainability strategy for eBay UK.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the cross-function initiative ensuring alignment and clear tracking
  • Be the SMB voice in how our sustainability strategies develop at pace
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with external partners, such as technology providers, industry experts or bodies, to bring ground breaking solutions and opportunities to eBay's SMB community.

What you will bring:

Strategic Vision: Ability to develop long-term strategies that align with eBay's mission and the evolving needs of SMB sellers, while also anticipating future market trends and shifts

Project Management: Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring, to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and with the desired outcomes.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects with multiple partners to successful completion.

Innovation: proven track record of delivering innovative projects to support a clear customer group.

Strong Data Literacy: An analytical approach and strengths to interpret data to make decisions with conviction and speed.

Extensive market knowledge: have a deep understanding of SMB experience in marketplace and beyond. As well as having an interest in new innovations coming in the near future that will impact

Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in sustainability and the role it plays in ecommerce, with the ability to integrate sustainable practices into initiatives that support SMBs.

Technological Savvy: Familiarity with the latest ecommerce technologies, trends and platforms that can be used to support SMB success on eBay.
